Program Description:

This program explores the best of Tuscany with a focus on the banking and financial institutions of Italy, the business of wine and local food production, environmentally sustainable business practices, the Italian economy, and the international luxury brands. Participants will stay at Castello Sonnino, a working farm and family business that is upholding tradition, preserving history, and continually evolving its business to adapt to the modern economy. During the experience groups will hear from local experts, learn about international luxury brands of the area, discuss the role of financial institutions in Italy and the European Central Bank, and explore questions of environmental and food policy while examining the economic realities of the region, visiting markets, farms, and sampling a variety of regional dishes and wines.
